Where the hell have we moved to? just check out the critter irradication products! There is a huge section in the supermarkets here - as big as the cleaning products. It brings a tear to my eye.
We had a spider in our bedroom last week, Mr TC went down stairs to get the spider hoover (we got it from lakeland - it looks a bit like a light sabre but its supposed to suck up spiders. The spider wasnt very big and it still struggled to tempt it in. if it couldnt pick up a tiny one - hows it gonna pick up a big b*stard?!
We were round at our good friends on friday night and the topic (as it so often does with Mr TC and I - both hideously petrified of anything insect related - sometimes I trick Mr TC into getting the insect by saying "don't be so pathetic, just get it' when really I would'nt get it in a million years! - bummer , he'l read this and now know my trick) well, the topic moved onto creepy crawlies of Australia. And by chance our friend said - 'there's actually a white-tail spider on the wall over there" intrigued to go see - this infamous spider is very nasty as it has a white tail (how did you guess!) which if it sticks that in you it eats away at the skin and can be fatal. - and THIS WAS IN THEIR KITCHEN!!! They dont tell you when you land in Australia what to do if you get bitten, stung or eaten by anything - what the hell do you do? Do you call triple zero? (their 999) Do you just ride it out and then think - ive lost my leg now - should probably have gone to hospital.
I was having a little tinkle on my piano the other day - havent done it for ages, but just felt in the right mood - I was then PUNISHED for it by getting bitten by a herd of ants passing through from under the window sill to the kitchen - I ask you - is that fair?
From a horrible topic to a gentle, less offensive one. What pretty colours!
